Rogue wins Starcraft II championships at IEM Katowice

StarCraft II champ crowned after anniversary announcement.
Mike Holmes 5 marts 2018

This Sunday the final four players (whittled down from 76 in the days previous) sat down to contest the Starcraft II IEM Season XII - World Championships in Katowice, Poland, with Rogue building on his fine performances earlier in the event to eventually emerge as champion.

Lee "Rogue" Byung Ryul went up against Maru in his semi, while Classic and Serral contested the other match on the road to the final. After the semi-finals were settled Classic and Rogue went head to head in what turned out to be a 4-0 washout, and apart from a few moments that were evenly contested, the eventual champion largely dominated the encounter.

Rogue's impressive win came shortly after some Starcraft related announcements at the event, with a documentary and crossover content confirmed as part of the game's 20th anniversary, which is being celebrated by Blizzard and fans this year (you can read more on that here).
