Level designer Damoun Shabs har udtalt sig omkring, processen bag b.la. at bringe Rom Extraction til PlayStation VR. Ligesom Farpoint vil spillet benytte sig Farpoints unikke geværformede controller. Shabs sagde følgende:
"For me the PlayStation Aim Controller combined with PlayStation VR, it's your best shot at getting the most immersive feeling, specifically with shooters. And it feels really good. It's like they took apart a DualShock 4, put it together. If you like that old school Sharpshooter back on PS3, it's that version 2.0."
Rom Extraction vil tilføje nyt indhold i et nyt modus. Spillet er allerede ude, hvis du ejer en Oculus Rift eller HTC Vive og rammer PlayStation 4 senere på året.
