Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II er blandt de bedst sælgende spil i Europa i 2024 og det er blevet hyldet for sin kompromisløse og old school tilgang til action - det lader til, at det er præcis det gamerne vil have lige nu.
Spillets stil er heldigvis et helt bevidst valg fra Saber Interactive. Game director Dmitriy Grigorenko siger i interview med GamesRadar, at det var deres mål at skabe et spil der føles som et actionspil fra Xbox 360 æraen - og at nogen var ville til at "take that risk instead of chasing another battle royale game. All of those things have just really paid off."
I didn't know it was that obvious, but that was the intention. We wanted to make a perfect sequel - that was in the original pitch. The 'perfect sequel' implies it's the exact same game - a 360 game with a story campaign, some PvP, and a horde mode to accompany it.
