"Necalli is the first brand new character to be added to the Street Fighter V roster," siger Dahlgren. "He's an ancient warrior. We wanted his gameplay style to be brutal and in your face. What's cool about Necalli is that he has two different forms so his V-trigger is very, very important. Once you can activate that it actually never goes away. It stays with you for the entirety of the whole round, gives all of his normals different frame data as well as enhanced properties on his special moves."
"This time around it's all about player choice," siger Dahlgren. "We're starting out with a strong core roster, but with plans of building on it over time. There's not going to be long voids of years in between content drops. There's always going to be something to look forward to and we're going to reward players that play the game. So if you play the game consistently you're now going to be able to earn post-launch DLC content for free. That's a first in franchise history so we really want to create longterm engagement with Street Fighter and reward the players that stick with us. Additionally now all balance adjustments are going to be made available for free, so if you buy this core beginning product you're never going to be forced to buy an upgrade pack in the future."
