Den svenske indie-udvikler Skygoblin har fundet succes med de første to kapitler af The Journey Down (der udkom i 2013 og 2014). Dog er det ikke helt nok til at finansiere spillets tredje kapitel, der er afslutningen på deres episke saga. Derfor har udvikleren åbnet en Kickstarter, der leder efter cirka £24,000, altså 240.000 kroner.
Vi tog en snak med spillets instruktør Theodor Waern, som fortalte os, at spillet "blæse os omkuld":
"The first chapter had more of a reggae vibe. The second chapter I started writing it in a period of my life when I was very much into film noir so that it became a very film noir-esque mood, a lot of big band jazz and stuff. That made it stay fresh so that was awesome. And now with chapter three, we love working with film noir, but with chapter three we want to move away from that and do something new."
"Now we've got this really weird, but amazing mix of 80s action movie type things like Lethal Weapon or Die Hard those kind of movies. Maybe a little bit of Ninja Turtles. Those kind of tropes that everyone understands in our generation, we can really relate to these characters. Those kind of tropes, that kind of set up, that kind of ambiance, that kind of saxophone... But also we've got this Lion King inspired part of it. Or maybe more Indiana Jones. So we're kind of mixing these things."
