"It's a 2D shooter inspired by games in the 90s, but it does its own thing," says van Ginkel. "So it's a really new game."

"In the beginning [the hacking] was way overpowered and then we decided to change some things. Now it's possible to hack one thing at a time. So you have to choose. Do I want to hack a turret to add more fire power? Do I want to have more health? Do I want to hack a robot so I can fly around a bit? So you have to make your choices. We don't really care what you do, but we don't want you to do everything at once. Because the challenge would be gone otherwise."
